Kindred Valley
Kindred Valley is a band toeing the line between Americana, Indie Folk, and Folk Rock. Hailing from West Virginia they combine their appalachian culture and roots with personal stories and experiences to create sounds and lyrics that grip the listener and bring them into the artists’ inner worlds.
The band was formed in 2020 when three friends—Blake Lacy, Noah Freeman, and Brett McCoy—met at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. Initially named Back Row Baptists, the trio began writing and recording music together and released their first singles. In 2021, the group welcomed three new members—husband and wife Rachael and Jadon Hayes, and Kaden Salmons—and with fresh energy and ideas, they decided it was time for a new name. Rebranded as Kindred Valley, Lacy and Salmons co-wrote an early version of their single “Whistle” during their first meeting. The band released their fifth single, “The Wedding Song,” later that year.
